Winchester Gears Standard LT230 Transfer Boxes

The Process

All units undergo thorough cleaning and blasting, with genuine bolts cleaned and zinc plated for durability.

Parts Used All parts used in our rebuilds are Genuine Land Rover, OEM, or G-rated. The following components are replaced as standard in every rebuild:

  • Input gear taper bearings
  • Intermediate gear taper bearings
  • High & Low main shaft taper bearings
  • Speedo housing roller bearing
  • Diff lock housing roller bearing
  • Intermediate shaft
  • Sun and planet gear bronze shims
  • Front & Rear Output Flange
  • Front & Rear Mud Shield
  • Speedo Gear
  • Front & Rear Prop Bolts
  • O-rings
  • Input & Output Seals

Inspection and Assembly All gears, selectors, and other internal components are cleaned, inspected for wear, and replaced as needed with OEM or G-rated parts. Transfer boxes are sealed with a durable polyurethane adhesive sealant.

Intermediate Bore Solution A common issue with Defender and Discovery Transfer Boxes is wear in the intermediate bore, which can cause oil leakage. To address this, all our rebuilt LT230s come with a sleeved intermediate shaft bore.
