SWEPCO products are made with the very finest ingredients, the very best modern lubrication technology can develop and supply. Proprietary technology like Lubium®, a highly effective extreme pressure additive used in our greases and gear oils, and Dimonyl®, the special anti-wear chemistry responsible for industry-leading performance in our engine and specialty oils. We then process those ingredients according to our own proprietary formulations with our own staff in our own plants with our own quality assurance technicians verifying every step​​​​​​​

Foreword

Multiple options make it confusing as to which lubricant and what quantities should be used, so a simplified approach to selection and minimising waste has been taken. This may mean that some possible options have been omitted.

The outstanding performance of Swepco lubricants make this simplification easier. Utilising the very best base oils and finest grade of additives combined with propriety technology it has been possible to reduce the number of lubricants required to put together a matrix to provide a wide range of kits.

Lubrication Selection

The industry standard to selecting the correct grade and type of oil is to refer to the Original Manufacturer’s (OME) recommendation. However, in the case of Land Rover the duration in which some transmission boxes have been used in production is long. Over this period the original specification of the lubrication has changed, in these instances we have selected the best of current lubrication technology as the replacement lubricant.

Typically, any drive train component manufactured pre 2000 will have been designed to utilise mineral based lubrication technology, those after 2000 will have been designed to take advantage of the superior performance and longevity of synthetic lubricants. This does not mean older components cannot benefit from using synthetic lubricants, just they have the option to run on less costly mineral based lubricants.

Our recommendations

Swepco 201 - Multi-Purpose Gear Lube is a premium quality, all-purpose gear oil formulated to provide superior performance in manual transmissions, gearboxes and final drives. Special additives provide outstanding anti-wear performance and energy efficiency.

Swepco 202 - Moly^XP 75w90 Synthetic Gear Lube is a high-performance gear oil formulated to deliver unsurpassed, all-weather performance. Whether the application calls for protection of 4x4’s or performance cars.

Swepco 712 - SWEPCO 712 Premium Synthetic Multi-Service ATF is a high-performance multi-service lubricant formulated to deliver unsurpassed performance in demanding on road or offroad vehicles.

Swepco 123 - Ultra EP Multi-Service Grease is a premium high-pressure gun grease. It has been specifically formulated to provide the extra protection required in high load, high heat and extreme pressure applications.

Land Rover Requirements 

The following table outlines the requirements specified through the appropriate workshop manuals. Whilst every care has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the information it is the responsibility of the end user to ensure the correct lubricant and quantity is used.
